Holidays here or abroad: Newquay hotels and Royal Caribbean CruisesNewquay may not be a name that’s synonymous with exoticism, but what places in the UK are? Newquay is however, the UK’s premier beach resort and although dubbed by some as the “Blackpool of the West Country”, statements like this do very little to overshadow the fact that anyone wishing to get away for a few days without leaving the country would be wise to look at Newquay, or in fact anywhere in Cornwall, for not only is accommodation particularly abundant throughout the area, but it’s also one of the most beautiful spots to be found along the English coast. Royal Caribbean Cruises are one of many cruise operators that sail to far off exotic destinations, many of whom the mere mention of their name is enough to evoke exotic images; cool blue waters, coconut trees and blue cloudless skies. The mention of names like Bermuda and Granada, to mention only two of the places that are frequently stopped in at on the way through the Caribbean, is more often than not, enough to get holidaymakers scrambling for the internet, booking berths on luxury liners that take in exotic ports of call like these two as they sail through idyllic seas. There’s more to a Newquay holiday than just taking in the views of the coastline, for as accommodation is as abundant as it is, there has to be plenty of places to feed all those hungry souls and in regards to gastronomic delights, Newquay has plenty. There are also plenty of bars and pubs to top the night off with, and although some will have to put the kids to bed, those with the opportunity to have a couple for the road will find that they’re spoiled for choice in regards to places to have a drink or two. Having a drink or two is par for the course onboard luxury liners like those in the Norwegian Cruises fleet. Their impressive fleet of eleven vessels are state of the art, which not only means that weather permitting they’ll get passengers to their port of disembarkment on time, but that they’ll also get them there in such a manner that most won’t want to find their sea legs again, because this is where cruise ships and passenger ships differ significantly, with cruise ships the fun is getting there, with less emphasis on the destination, whilst with regular ships it is reversed. Newquay isn’t only renowned for its abundance of accommodation, in summer the population can swell from 20 000 to 100 000, nor is it only renowned for its wealth of bars and restaurants, because what Newquay is really famous for relates to what most have come to Newquay for, the sea, or ocean in fact, because Newquay is located on the Atlantic coast of Cornwall which means that there’s surf to be had, and although it’s a bit much for most to brave the cold water in winter, there are some pretty good breaks, particularly at Fistral Beach, all year round. Celebrity Cruises are another well known operator of cruises to exotic destinations around the world and like the aforementioned fleet, that of Norwegian, Celebrity’s fleet is also state of the art. The vessels used only have a certain life span before they’re retired and as that’s the case, new vessels are added every few years in order to keep the vessels in operation in pristine condition. Like all cruise operators, Celebrity sets sail to exotic destinations in the Caribbean, so should anyone want to go calypso on their next holiday, they’d do well to look at this particular operator. As mentioned earlier, there are many bars and restaurants to choose from in Newquay as it is renowned for its lively night life. As that’s the case, many families might wish to find somewhere to stay that’s a little quieter, away from singles, stag and hen nights. That’s why when looking at accommodation in Newquay, again there is a lot to choose from, families and couples who are looking for a quiet time can look at family run establishments, those who don’t accept singles or anyone bar couples and families, which means that one’s stay in Newquay will be as comfortable as possible. A stay onboard one of the luxury liners in the P&O Cruises fleet is sure to be comfortable, as this operator is perhaps the most renowned one of all and if there was one name which is synonymous with cruises it would have to be P&O, as not only are they the most prominent of all operators, but they were also the first. There aren’t too many places that they don’t sail to, offering seafaring holidaymakers a wide variety of destinations around the world to choose from, and a picture perfect holiday each and every time. Most go somewhere like Newquay to enjoy the seaside, the sea breezes, the sun and the sand, and if one can surf or is willing to give it a go, they could also look at the many hire shops and try their luck amongst the breaks at Fistral beach, easily the UK’s premier surf break. As the seaside is the draw card, it makes sense to stay as close to the seaside as is possible without getting wet, and should one be looking for a quiet, family run establishment that shuns loud groups in favour of couples and families, they’ll do well for themselves here. Anyone who books a holiday with MSC Cruises will also do well for themselves, as anytime they set sail, passengers look for reasons to stay on board that little longer, making the most of their time at sea until they are back on solid land again. Being on solid land again is not all that bad, maybe not at the port at which one disembarks, but rather those that are included in the itinerary, ports of call that break up one’s time at sea and offer holidaymakers the opportunity to see new places around the world. | |||
